As many of you are aware, The Governor of New Jersey has issued an Executive Stay-At-Home Order. This impacts all preschool, elementary, and secondary schools. Parkview will remain closed until further notice. There is no return date at this time. We will continue to update our school community as new information becomes available.
There will be an additional opportunity to pick up food at Parkview on Monday, March 30th. To reserve food for your family, you must complete the food survey located on the school’s home page. Please complete this by Wednesday at noon.
Virtual learning will continue for students in grades 3-6 and will begin for students in Pre K- 2nd grade as of Monday, March 30th. Please see your child’s teacher’s website or dojo page for more information.
I hope that you are in good health and finding some enjoyment in this extra time with your family. Stay well!
Gateway Group Communication March 14th, 2020
After much consideration and in an effort to maintain the safety of our school community, Parkview School will be closing for students beginning Monday, March 16th for at least two weeks and we will reassess during that time to determine if we need to stay closed longer. All extracurricular activities including meetings and the Just Kids program will be cancelled during this period. We will reschedule activities for when school resumes. Instruction will begin on Tuesday and continue during this period using the distributed packets or using our students’ one to one Chromebooks. Classroom assignments and materials will be distributed through Google Classroom. Students should log in daily for their assignments. Teachers will be available through email, voicemail, class dojo and Google Classroom to support students. If you have a Child Study Meeting scheduled, it will be held by a phone conference.
All staff will report on Monday to finalize the Emergency Preparedness plan. Students who need to get essential items from the school should contact the office to arrange a time to come into the building. Students may also purchase breakfast and lunch beginning Tuesday. Students who qualify for free or reduced breakfast and lunch will be provided those options. More details will follow. Please visit the district website Sunday for important information on COVID-19 and to complete the food service survey. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate this difficult situation. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available and if it becomes necessary to close longer.
